Founded in 1994, Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) is a Nursery
through Grade 12 English-language international school, offering

with international standing. The school’s 2005 results
in the International Schools Asseessment (ISA) demonstrate
that WAB students perform at or above the average international
school’s level.
WAB’s facilities are outstanding and with the opening
of the new High School ‘Academic Center’ in August

four separate buildings providing a self-contained environment
for each of the learner communities of Early Childhood (Nursery
and Pre-Kindergarten), Elementary (Kindergarten - Grade 5),
Middle School (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12).
The HUB Sports, Arts and Technology Center provides an excellent
shared resource for Middle and High School students. WAB is
a leading school in the integration of IT throughout the curriculum
and features a laptop and wireless network environment from
Grade 1 - 12.
WAB is a school with a difference, brought about through
a fusion of its beliefs and values and the enthusiasm and
commitment of all staff and the community. WAB is guided by
its Values (Learner-Centred, Caring, China-Global Coherence,
Mosaic of Diversity and ‘Gong He’ Spirit), which
are complemented by the International Baccalaureate Organization’s
Mission and its Student Learner Profile.
WAB parents are encouraged to participate as partners in
the education of their children and in the continuing development
