PTA FORBIDDEN CITY SKATING CANCELLED

The PTA has, very sadly, had to cancel this yearfs skating at the Forbidden City Moat, which was scheduled for January 19 & 20. The warm weather has caused the ice cover to be too thin and the operators are only opening up a very limited space, which is not suitable for our large number of skaters.

Used Postage Stamp Collection
Used postage stamps are worth money to charities such as the Red Cross. Please cut the used postage stamps off envelopes youfve received (leaving a little paper round the stamp) and place the stamps in the collection boxes outside the PTA Place in the ES or the JingXi Place in the HUB. The collection runs from Monday January 15 | Wednesday January 31. Stamps from ALL countries will be gratefully received.

Small Change Appeal
The Small Change Appeal begins on Thursday February 1. Put aside your small change (fen, jiao and yuan) between now and then to donate to this fund. The proceeds will sponsor underprivileged children in China who cannot afford to go to school. WAB students will be presented with a brief description of each child and will be invited to sponsor one or more children. Last year a sum of more than 86,000 RMB was raised to send 70 children to school! Letfs see if we can top last yearfs efforts and help even more students receive an education!

Eyeglass Collection
In March, the PTA will be collecting spectacles/will be sent to Western China, where people use your unwanted lenses to see better.

PTA SHOPS

• Jing Xi Place in the Middle School needs volunteers on Mondays and Fridays. Itfs only for two hours, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, so if you can spare some time and would like to help out, please contact Kandy at kandyp70@yahoo.co.kr or 1339-193-5575.

• The next deadline for tracksuit orders is Friday January 19.
