Have You Been Traveling?

We are still collecting toiletries for the ‘Rural Women Knowing All’ Foundation. This organization offers opportunities for young women from rural or poor areas to receive job training in Beijing. Please help us support them by donating your extra toiletries!

PTA Autumn Secondhand Clothing Drive

The PTA is once again collecting clean, gently used clothes (all ages) to be distributed to grateful recipients in Beijing and western China. Please place your donations in the collection boxes outside the ES or HUB PTA shops starting October 10.

Mooncake Madness

Thank you to everyone who contributed their excess mooncakes to the PTA charity drive. The Charity Committee will be distributing mooncakes to needy people around Beijing just in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Thanks for helping to distribute the holiday cheer.

Lunch Time Shootout

The Lunchtime Shootout opened this week on the new basketball and volleyball half-court at the High School. All week, students shot baskets during the lunch break in a fun-filled challenge. The most exciting action happened on Thursday, when the students took on the staff and claimed the victory. The new court was made possible with a gift of 100,000 yuan from the PTA. Several PTA officers were on hand to present a trophy to the winners.

The construction of the basketball/volleyball court came in under the estimated cost, so the remaining funds will go towards another project designed to enhance outdoor play at WAB.
