WELCOME COFFEE
The PTA will host a Welcome Coffee on
Tuesday January 9 from 8:30am to 10:30am
in the Lotus Lounge (ES). All parents
are invited to attend. Guest speakers
from gMake It Easy Beijingh will be
on hand to answer questions about living
in Beijing. This is a good chance to
ask those questions that have come up
since your original orientation to China!

PTA FORBIDDEN CITY SKATING
Wrap
up in warm
clothes
and join
the fun
on the
ice! This
highly
popular
family
winter
event is
planned
for Saturday
January
20. More
detailed
information
will be
distributed
in January.
As we have
to limit
numbers
for safety
reasons,
participation
will be
by ticket
only. Also,
on Friday
January
19, MSHS
students
are invited
to glide
along on
a PTA WABX
skate.
Permission
Slips will
be sent
home after
the winter
break. |
CHARITY
COMMITTEE
- Start putting aside your small change
(fen, jiao and yuan) to donate to the
Small Change Appeal, commencing Thursday
February 1. All contributions will go
towards sponsoring underprivileged children
in China who cannot afford to go to school.
Each class in the ES, MS and HS will
have the opportunity to select a child.
Last year, more than 86,000RMB was raised
to send 70 children to school!
- Used postage stamps are worth money
to charities such as the Red Cross! Please
cut the cancelled postage stamps off
your envelopes (leaving a little paper
round the stamp) and place them in the
collection boxes outside the PTA Place
(ES) or JingXi Place (HUB). Collection
runs from January 15 - 31. Stamps from
ALL countries are welcome.
- In March, the PTA will be collecting
unwanted eyeglasses to redistribute to
less fortunate people in western China.

- JingXi Place (MS) needs
volunteers on Mondays and Fridays from
11:00am to 1:00pm. If you can spare two
hours and would like to help, please

- The next deadline for tracksuit orders
will be Friday Jan 19.
- PTA Place (ES) also
needs volunteers on Fridays. If you can
