Expectations

staff
WAB is a progressive school, and teachers give much of their time. We have an involved and committed parent community with high expectations of the school and its staff. The school expects excellence in teaching, and full involvement and commitment to the school's development and the extra curricular activities for all its staff. Candidates considering a position at WAB need to be aware of these expectations and the time commitment in addition to normal teaching workload.

At WAB we all work hard for our students and by the end of term, we are all ready for the holidays, but we always come back charged and sparking to go again. Working at WAB could be quite demanding in terms of time and energy. A standard workload is outlined below:

Teaching Load
The schedule is based on 40 periods of 40 minutes per week. A full teaching load is generally 30 periods. The 10 non-contact periods are allocated for grade/department planning and general meeting time, personal planning, preparation and classroom management other meetings, catching up with other colleagues and meeting with parents.

School Life/Development
All teachers are expected to serve on at least 2 committees or teams throughout the year.
