Salary Schedule
To attract and retain teachers of the highest caliber, WAB
offers remuneration and employment conditions, which are highly
competitive.
WAB recruits foreign teachers from both overseas
as well as locally in Beijing.
All foreign teachers receive the same base benefits
when working at WAB. In addition, teachers recruited from
overseas will also receive the following benefits in support
of your moving to Beijing:
Relocation Airfare
Shipping Charges and Insurance
Housing
Settling In Allowance
R&R Travel Allowance
Travel Allowance in Case of Death
The school is constrained with the number of overseas and
local foreign hired positions it offers each year. Some positions
are identified for local hire recruits only within the school's
staffing plan. Generally teachers employed as local hired
candidates remain a local hire during their ongoing employment
at WAB.

- Salaries quoted are net of Chinese income tax.
- RMB salary is implemented in 2007/2008 based on school’s approved exchange rate (US$ 1.00 = RMB 7.70).
- **One-Time Supplement is only applicable in 2008/2009, and paid out in 13 installments together with the salary.
Step Guidelines
• Maximum entry is Step H, including teachers with
more than 9 years experience.
• Teachers (0.5 FTE or more) who has completed one
year of service and satisfied the performance standards will
advance one step per year, (except for teachers who are
in their first year of teaching and had entered at Step
A, who will be on Step A for a period of 2 years).
• Teachers must work at least half the school day throughout the school year or full-time for at least one and half terms. Teachers who work less than half the school day will progress one step each two years.
