Teacher Compensation & Benefits
WAB offers remuneration that is highly competitive in the international market. The salary is paid in local Chinese currency (RMB) and can be converted to (most) major currencies and transferred out of China after completing the necessary paperwork with the bank (our partnership with the local bank will ensure that the bank assists you with this).
Teachers are paid according to their years of teaching experience on a 16-step teacher's salary scale, and the school regularly reviews the compensation and benefits package.
For conversions, please refer to http://www.xe.com/ucc/
The starting annual gross salary ranges from RMB 332,919 and a new teacher's maximum entry annual gross salary (on Step 8) is RMB 431,981. Each year, teachers whose employment is renewed will advance one step on the salary scale until they reach the top of the scale, which is an annual gross salary of RMB 527,103. These gross salaries quoted are "before-tax" salary. Each month, the Chinese income tax will be deducted and paid to the Chinese tax bureau.
