Selecting Courses for Study at Grade 11

Before making a choice, a student should ask the following questions:

  • Which courses have I enjoyed in the past (irrespective of grades)? Why do I enjoy them?
  • Which courses have I previously studied most successfully? Which courses do teachers/ parents recommend I choose?
  • What careers am I considering? What do I want to study at College or University? What relationship is there between my academic success and my future plans?
  • Which country/countries am I considering for University or College study? Are there certain courses required for entry to particular subjects of further study in the country concerned?

NOTE:

1. An International Baccalaureate Diploma is awarded to students who pass all six courses and complete the Creativity, Action, Service (CAS), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay requirements.
