3. WAB High School Diploma
Option 1 - IB Diploma (IBDP) and WAB High School Diploma
This is a comprehensive two year program that is recognized widely
by colleges and universities around the world and enables students
to be considered for advanced placement in college courses. Students
must complete a total of 6 courses including a minimum of 3 at
Higher Level, allowing for depth as well as breadth in studies.
IBDP students must also complete a mandatory course called Theory
of Knowledge (TOK) , an Extended Essay of 4,000 words (maximum)
and meet the requirements of Creativity, Action, Service (CAS).
The WAB High School Diploma also requires students to complete
a course in PE.

Higher Level subjects

areas of interest and academic strengths. |

knowledge and understanding, and take a minimum of 150 hours
teaching. They are considered sufficient to satisfy most prerequisite
requirements for first year College of University courses. |

Combining IB Certificate Courses and WAB College Preparatory Courses
provides a rigorous program of study with a diverse selection of
courses. Students must meet the requirements of CAS and complete
a course in PE.

Students who do not wish or need to study IB Courses can select
WAB Courses. These courses include a range of college/university

and skill based learning to support students who will seek employment
following graduation. Students must meet the requirements of CAS
and complete a course in PE.
Selecting Courses for Study at Grade 11
Before making a choice, a student should ask the following questions:
- Which courses have I enjoyed in the past (irrespective of grades)?
Why do I enjoy them?
- Which courses have I previously studied most successfully?
Which courses do teachers/ parents recommend I choose?
- What careers am I considering? What do I want to study at
College or University? What relationship is there between my
academic success and my future plans?
- Which country/countries am I considering for University or
College study? Are there certain courses required for entry to
particular subjects of further study in the country concerned?
|
