OLYMPIC EDUCATION MODEL SCHOOL

The WAB Elementary School kicks off the year with the Biathlon and Triathlon 2006/07 to be held on Saturday September 23. This event encourages group participation in sport and physical activity, and is targeted at Elementary School students from Grade 1 - 5. There will also be an opportunity for parents to enter in a fun individual or team event. We are delighted that Daimler Chrysler are sponsoring us again through the generous donation of T-shirts.

Participants will enter a combination of running, swimming and cycling activities as follows: Grade 1 - 2 students will take part in a Biathlon, where students will swim and run. Grade 3 - 5 students will take part in a Triathlon where students will swim, cycle and run. Parents and staff may enter a fun Triathlon, either as individuals or as a team sharing the three events. The focus of the event is about having fun, and although students are currently preparing for Biathlon readiness in PE, the distances have been carefully chosen to be manageable at the appropriate age groups.

If you or your child/ren would like to participate please:
• Put the date in your diary.
• Complete and return the entry form which will be sent home with students
• Check that bicycles (Grade 3-5) are ready for cycling.
• Encourage your child’s participation in this WAB event. It promises to be a great deal of fun!
