WAB's Super Athletes Triump at Biggest Track Meet Ever

A crowd well in excess of 1,000 participants and spectators witnessed the biggest sporting event for Beijing and Tianjin international schools ever at the WAB track last Friday May 11.

Over 500 competitors from 9 international schools took part in an atmosphere that would have made Pierre de Coubertin proud.

The performances of our Elementary WAB athletes exceeded even WAB’s high expectations at this event.

A glance at some of the statistics would astound any sports observer. The performance is all the more amazing when you consider there were 9 schools vying for every event.

ISAC Gold: Out of a possible 40 Gold Medals on offer, WAB students won 25.

ISAC Records Since 2000: Of the 40 records in existence since 2000, this year WAB athletes established 16 new records.

8 x 50m Relay: The culmination of the ISAC Track and Field event is always the 8 x 50m relay. There is something about the sight of all 6 lanes with 8 runners in each lane flying around the track that really gets the crowd pulsating. As the final floodlit relays took their inevitable course, it was clear to the cheering capacity crowd that this was to be WAB’s finest sporting hour.
