Alumni Profile: Franklyn Zhu and Dale Zhang

Class of 2012 & 2015

Franklyn Zhu (Class of 2012) and Dale Zhong (Class of 2015) took their musical knowledge and experience to Yale University and made a lasting impact on the most historic collegiate a capella singing group in existence.

As members of the Yale Spizzwinks, Dale and Franklyn helped arrange the group's first Chinese language performance in its 102-year history. While the two WAB alumni share a deep passion for music, both are focused heavily on their academics - Franklyn studying Computer Science and Psychology while Dale is in the Directed Studies program - a balance that reminds them both of their time at WAB.

Franklyn credited WAB for helping him discover music and giving him the opportunity to travel the world to share his talents.

"Yale is a lot like WAB, because they both offer the freedom to explore and pursue passions," Dale said. "The only difference is that WAB is home."
