Western Academy of Beijing transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday.
Nearly 4,000 people welcomed the holiday season in a festive celebration on the WAB campus for the annual Winter Charity Bazaar.
The smell of seasonal treats from around the globe circulated the hallways, as shoppers perused products from more than 160 unique vendors. Children rode ponies and played games, and WAB students created a lively atmosphere with music and dance performances throughout the day.
Fundraising efforts from the event brought in approximately 220,000RMB for a variety of local and international charities, including Maidafu Farming Community and Educating Girls of Rural China. Donations will also go to support student-led charitable initiatives including New Sunshine, Roundabout, Crossroads Foundation, CAI and Lwala Community Alliance.
WAB students also set up booths to support their own service projects, including Roots and Shoots, GM English, and Profarmer.
Thanks also go to the 25 generous raffle sponsors, including Sennheiser, ET Climbing, International Dental Clinic, Shuguang Shengmu, Parkway Health and Hong Kong Medical Clinic, which donated a total of 50,000RMB in prizes.
WAB's parent groups also came out in full force to support the annual event. Thanks to the Finnish Link, Korean Link, Chinese Link, Nestle Coffee, as well as the dozens of volunteers who contributed to the bake sale, gave their time and energy at the event, and supported this wonderful community event.
