3 Things Oscar & Audrey Have Learned Away from Campus

While the WAB community has been away from campus, learning has never stopped. Whether it's academic, exploring new hobby's, or a personal life lessons, the experience continues to teach us all new things. We asked our community to share three things they've learned while away from campus.

Here is what Oscar (Grade 1), Audrey (Grade 3), and their mother Rachel shared.

If you'd like to share three things you've learned, send an email to Chris Clark at chris_clark@wab.edu.

Oscar (Grade 1): I have learned what is a natural resource and man-made resource. Now I know that paper is made from trees. I also learned how to use Zoom to see my teachers and friends. I have also learned to use FlipGrid to share things with my 1B friends. I like video sharing.

Audrey (Grade 3): I learned to write different styles of poems. My favorite is acrostic poems. I had lot of fun writing them. I learned the difference between water color and paint. I can create different shades of color with adding water to water colors. Paint is thicker and it doesn’t need water. I also learned continuous line drawing. I can draw like Picasso now. It’s kind of cool!

Rachel (Mom): I have been spending lot of time supporting Oscar and Audrey with their online learning. I feel like I have finally gotten a close-up of what kind of learners they are. This is like seeing the words on their report cards in action. I learn about their strengths and challenges as learners every day. In return, it enlightens me with new ideas for how to better support their learning down the road. This is a lesson that all of us, as a family, will benefit from for a long time.
