Early Acceptances Roll in from Universities around the Globe

Early acceptances to university continue to roll in for Grade 12 students, and the university admissions season is in full swing, despite WAB being away from campus.

Our students have gained early acceptance to more than 57 specialized programs and world-renowned universities across three continents, and more results will be coming in soon.

“The destinations and the areas of study showcase the diversity of our student population and the strong academic program at WAB,” High School Counselor Michelle Chow-Liu said. “Our students have applied to STEM programs, English literature, film, visual arts, and performing arts. Our goal is to ensure they apply to university that best suits them as individual learners, and our counseling team feels the Class of 2020 is a perfect example of this philosophy.”

Meanwhile, as our community enters Week 4 of remote learning, the high school faculty continues to work closely with students and parents on the university application process. Counselors hosted workshops via video conference about application procedures and have been working with parents and students individually online.

“Our current work with international university associations tells us that institutions value the resiliency and flexibility that our students are learning right now,” High School Principal Melanie Vrba said. “We are working closely together to understand our current reality, and they have assured us that they will take our closure into account during this admissions season. We are proud to see the diversity of our student acceptances from universities and colleges all over the world.
