Grade 12 Legacy Gift

Grade 12 Legacy Gift

Every graduating class at WAB organizes and leaves behind a Legacy Gift in honor of both the school and their host country, China. This year, Grade 12 chose two projects for their Legacy Gift.

First, students planned a design and then worked for three days to create a lasting mosaic on the low retaining wall on the High School side of the WAB bridge. The students were inspired by pictures of Antonio Gaudi's mosaic park in Spain (Park Guell). Be sure to look for the now complete, beautiful mosaic as you cross the bridge.

The second part of the Legacy Gift is raising money to sponsor Chinese orphans in need of cleft palette surgery. Grade 12 raised money for this sponsorship through their childcare offering, and also gift and art sales during WAB's Charity Bazaar. A painting, by Ho In Lee (Grade 12), for sale at the Charity Bazaar is pictured below. Throughout the year, Grade 12 will hold additional fundraising efforts including an Open Mic Night, bake sales, a Quiz Night, an IB Art Auction, t-shirt sales, and more.

Don't miss your opportunities to support our Grade 12 students and the important cause that they have chosen to give to, cleft palette surgeries for Chinese orphans.
