Reflections from WAB's Landmark Accreditation Visit

Thank you to all of the members of our Western Academy of Beijing community who contributed to, supported, and participated in our accreditation visit.

The14-member accreditation team hosted a community-wide session to share their initial feedback and review of our school. They visited WAB to conduct the first-ever synchronized accreditation process based on current protocols of the four organizations we work with: National Center for School Curriculum and Textbook Development (NCCT), Council of International Schools (CIS), New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).

Here are some of the responses from members representing each group:

JOINT COMMENT BY ALL ORGANIZATIONS: "Your influence here at WAB extends beyond these walls to international education all over the world. You are pioneers. Everybody in this international community is looking at you. Thank you for being courageous and making that step forward for us all and for children all over the globe... Students, parents, educators, teachers, service staff - everybody at WAB - you are WAB. It's a very, very special place. Look after it."

IBO: "We are convinced as a team that FLoW21 can significantly enhance the quality of the implementation of the IB programs."

CIS: "We have seen fantastic learning in your classrooms... your collective alignment to your own guiding statements... promotions of diversity... positive relationships between adults and students working together... the co-creation of a learning-focused future... an atmosphere that fosters learning, openness, fairness and trust for all... the development of students leadership and voice, which empowers students to make a difference."

NEASC: "This is a community that is learning - testing things, trying things. FLoW21 is not just a name and is not just an initiative. It's who you are."
