School Supplies Control Computers: Student Inventors Develop High-Tech Toys

Grade 4 students at Western Academy of Beijing used Makey Makey and the Scratch engine to turn every day objects into innovative tools and technological toys.

They tested electrical conductivity of things like school supplies, food and clay, turning them into interfaces that can control computers and function as a sound board or a video game console.

Using the design process, they conceptualized, prototyped and modified their project before presenting the finished products to their peers.
