Softball Team Captures Milestone Championship
A milestone victory for the WAB softball team on Saturday marked the program's first ever tournament championship.
The Western Academy of Beijing Tigers won the annual China Cup tournament against teams from Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, and Shanghai. The team had a perfect 5-0 record through the tournament and had contributions from all of their players to secure the win.
Going into the final game's last inning, the Tigers were down by one run. A well-timed home run (which you can watch in the video below) tied the game and put the pressure on the opposing pitcher. The team didn't quit there, getting more hits and taking walks to score one final run for the win.This is one of the last stops for the Tigers en route to the Asia-Pacific Activities Conference tournament at the end of the season in the Philippines April 19-21.
