WAB Set for Safe Return of Elementary Learning Communities

WAB Set for Safe Return of Elementary Learning Communities

On Monday, June 8, WAB will once again further open its campus, as the Kindergarten, Grade 4, and Grade 5 learning communities make their returns.

Following procedural guidelines from educational authorities to ensure a healthy and safe return, WAB teams have been preparing campus buildings, learning spaces, and outdoor areas. This will be the first time our Elementary School community has been back on campus since campus closure in February. Procedures vary slightly for our Kindergarten students, and we have sent specific grade level information to our returning families via WAB Special Email.

Modeled on our experience and learning from re-opening the Middle and High Schools, WAB Elementary put in place state-of-the-art thermal imaging technology, similar to what is used at international airports, and equipped our school facilities with personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies. Nearly 200 members of staff and faculty will test negative before returning to campus, and teams have been on site to go through deep-cleaning procedures and prepare facilities based on official re-opening guidelines.

Many of the plans and procedures that will be in place resemble the health and safety processes that have been successful in our other campuses. We encourage you to read through the slides below to prepare yourself and your children for the June 8 return.

We can’t wait to see everyone back on campus soon!

At the end of the school day, dismissals will be staggered for students depending on how they are getting home, so that we can maintain safe social distances while walking/riding from campus, arranging parent pick-up, and while boarding the school buses.
