Thinking of Each Student When Designing Curriculum

Knowledge comes in building blocks and, often, we ask students to have a full layer of a building before they can start to support the layers above it. Sometimes, though, it is enough to have a few bricks and spades to move around to get students to think about how they can design the building themselves.

Teachers at WAB are drawing from their rich experience to design blocks of courses that allow this to happen. Teachers at WAB have wide knowledge of how to teach students so that their learning becomes more detailed and more complex over their years at school.

Our challenge is to make this learning even richer by making it possible for students to make their interests and strengths central to the process. Over the next few years, we will be designing blocks of courses that allow our students to make choices that begin with their own personal interests and learning requirements.
